Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for Adults

Strength, Skill, and Confidence — Built Over Time

Our Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program is designed for individuals who want to challenge themselves physically and mentally while training in a professional, structured environment.

Whether you are completely new to martial arts or have prior experience, classes at Kroyler Gracie Jiu-Jitsu emphasize clear instruction, thoughtful progression, and long-term development. Training is demanding, but approachable — with guidance and support every step of the way.

You do not need to be “in shape” to start. You get in shape by training.

Rooted in Tradition, Taught with Purpose

Our instruction is rooted in traditional Brazlian/Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, with an emphasis on fundamentals, leverage, and efficiency.

Kroyler’s teaching is influenced by Master Marcio "Macarrao" Stambowsky. Kroyler's analytical mind and logical approach to Jiu-Jitsu, reinforces a commitment to technical precision, sound mechanics, and responsible instruction. That foundation is paired with a modern, structured approach that values adaptability, safety, and long-term progress.

This balance ensures training remains practical, relevant, and sustainable over time.

How Classes Are Structured

Adult classes are structured, intentional, and welcoming to beginners and experienced practioners alike. At KGJJ classes are separated by experience level ensuring students of all levels are engaged, supported, and best set up for success.

Instruction begins with clear explanations and demonstrations, followed by guided drilling and supervised training. Students are encouraged to ask questions, learn at their own pace, and focus on understanding rather than simple memorization.

Live training is introduced progressively and conducted in a controlled, respectful environment where communication, safety, and mutual respect are always emphasized.

Curriculum and Skill Development

Our adult curricula covers the full scope of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Curriculum is tailored specifically for each class experience level, from fundamentals to advanced techniques.

Students learn and develop skills and techniques through a logical approach, where fundamental techniques are used as a platform from which future advanced techniques can be built upon. Students will learn a wide variety of techniques from takedowns, throws, submissions, submission defenses and escapes, reversals, positional control, self-defense, and so on. Rather than limiting training to a narrow approach, instruction emphasizes adaptable principles and concepts that support long-term growth and development.

This approach allows students to build a complete foundation while continuing to refine their understanding and techniques over time.

Technical Standards and Quality of Instruction

We maintain high technical standards across all adult classes.

Techniques are taught with attention to detail, proper mechanics, and consistency, ensuring students build skills that are reliable and effective over time. Instructors actively monitor execution, technical execution, provide corrections, and reinforce fundamentals, concepts, and principles so progress is based on quality rather than shortcuts.

This commitment to technical precision allows students to train confidently and continue progressing without hitting artificial limits.

 Class Levels and Training Options

Adult Jiu-Jitsu classes are separated and organized to support students at different stages of experience.

Beginner classes focus on foundational movement, core concepts, and building confidence in a structured setting. Advanced classes allow experienced students to explore deeper technical layers and refine their more advanced skills.

We also offer mixed-level training options such as competition-focused classes and dedicated drilling sessions. Placement is guided by experience, readiness, and instructor input to ensure a productive, safe, and supportive training environment.

Teaching Methodology and Leadership

Kroyler Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is led by a hands-on teaching approach with standardized curricula.

Kroyler teaches the majority of adult classes, ensuring consistency in instruction, expectations, and technical standards across the program from all the instructors and students alike. This allows students to train within a cohesive system where concepts build logically over time.

Leadership is present on the mat, not just behind the scenes, and instruction is guided with clarity, patience, and long-term development in mind.

Gi and No-Gi Training

In addition to gi classes, we also offer dedicated No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training.

No-Gi classes emphasize movement, adaptability, and athletic application while maintaining the same structured, principle-based approach found throughout the academy.

You can learn more about No-Gi training on our No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu page.

Training Culture and Community

The culture in our adult program reflects the quality of the people who teach and train here.

Students come from a wide range of backgrounds — professionals, parents, students, and athletes — and share a common respect for learning, effort, and personal growth. Training partners support one another, egos are checked, and behavior on the mats carries into daily life.

This is an environment where people take pride in training well, treating others properly, and contributing positively to the academy and the broader community.

This creates an amazing community, one which we are very proud of, and especially proud of how everyone supports each other on and off the mats, one that fosters true friendships and long lasting relationships. It's a "familia."
